Transfer Students

The first step in the transfer process is to submit your application EARLY. If you are currently at a CT Community College, you do not need to wait until your Associate's Degree is completed to apply to Central. In fact, if you wait until your current semester is completed, you are already behind in the process. If it is your intention to start at Central in a fall semester, you should apply the previous fall semester. The majority of incoming students have already received their acceptance letter at least one semester prior to their start at Central.

The next step is to attend a required Transfer Advising Session. The School of Engineering, Science, and Technology (SEST), Student Services Center is the first point of contact for all accepted transfer students that have declared a SEST major. The Student Services Center will send an invitation, via email, to attend a Transfer Advising Session within two weeks of your formal acceptance. It is your responsibility to follow all instructions in the email, including registering for a Transfer Advising Session. You should select the earliest Transfer Advising Session available. The Session will include a group presentation on general Central policies, procedures, and responsibilities. You will then proceed to an advising appointment with faculty from the department of your major or a Student Support Specialist. It is during this individual meeting that you will discuss specific program requirements, transfer credits, and course registration. You will also receive your alternate PIN, which is required to register for courses.
