At Central Connecticut State University, we believe that Accounting Internships are an excellent way for students to enter the profession. Each year, our accounting majors are sought after by global and regional accounting firms, as well as many Fortune 500 companies. Of the accounting graduates for 2014, approximately one-third had completed paid internships, most of which led to full-time offers, and our internship program continues to grow. Quite a few of our students are "150-ready" (and therefore possess all college credits for attainment of the Connecticut CPA designation) when they complete their B.S. in accounting; others enroll in graduate programs at this or other area universities in order to meet the Connecticut CPA and other designation requirements. In addition to earning three (3) college credits in accounting electives, the internship experience generally applies toward the experience requirements for the CPA, CMA, CIA and other professional designations that our students are encouraged to attain.
