Book talk: 'Feminist Advocacy: Championing Gender & Social Justice'

March 31, 2025
4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Connecticut Room

Connecticut State Representative Jillian Gilchrest believes that information sharing is a powerful catalyst for change. In her new book, “Feminist Advocacy: Championing Gender & Social Justice,” she shares her personal journey, from identifying as a feminist, to learning the value of engaging with diverse viewpoints, to becoming a champion for gender and social justice.

Gilchrest’s book serves to guide those engaged in feminist advocacy efforts, to encourage those fighting for equal rights, and to inspire those fighting for a women’s right to choose. Join her for a brief reading from her book and conversation on feminist advocacy.

This event is sponsored by the Ruthe Boyea Women's Center, the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies minor, the Sociology Department, and The Committee for the Concerns of
Women.
