Dr. King has been a faculty member at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) since 2003, holding various positions, including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Program and Clinical Coordinator (M.S. program), Professor, and Department Chairperson for the Counselor Education and Family Therapy Department. Her teaching portfolio includes a wide range of courses related to counseling theories, techniques, rehabilitation counseling, disability, assessment/testing and clinical supervision, both in classroom settings and through hybrid/online platforms. Dr. King received her doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from Boston University (2009). She also has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Springfield College. Dr. King is presently the Program Coordinator for the Advanced Official Certificate in Professional Counseling ( AOCP).
She has over 35 years of experience in the counseling field as a practitioner in various capacities including rehabilitation and mental health counseling, disability management, leadership, and as a forensic rehabilitation expert. She is a nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She is also a program evaluator and consultant regarding accreditation and succession planning.
