Tolerance Statement

The university’s official policies relating to Nondiscrimination in Education and Employment, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct extend beyond the physical campus to include comments and behaviors in online/webcam courses. All Central administrators, faculty, staff and students share a collective responsibility to encourage at all times and in every setting a culture of dignity and respect; to treat others with courtesy and consideration; and to challenge inappropriate or offensive behavior when it is safe to do so. Faculty and staff have a responsibility to lead by example, identifying inappropriate and offensive behaviors and taking prompt action to stop or prevent them. Allegations of harassment, bullying, and discrimination will be treated seriously, regardless of where they have occurred (virtual or physical space). Anyone found to have behaved unacceptably may be subject to disciplinary action. The Office for Equity & Inclusion will promptly address each complaint and make reasonable efforts to expeditiously affect a resolution.
