Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where should graduates and guests park?

    Graduates should park in Copernicus Parking Garage. Parking for guests will be available in the Welte Garage, Student Center Lot, and Student Center Garage
  • What time will the doors open for guests?

    The gates will open at 7:30 a.m. for the morning ceremony and 1 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony.
  • Is the stadium accessible?

    The stadium is fully accessible, and includes wheelchair locations. Entrance to the stadium is at the parking lot level with accessible seating at the same level. Additional accessible parking spaces will be designated.
  • Which ceremony do I attend?

    Undergraduates and graduates of the College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences, School of Education and the School of Engineering, Science and Technology should attend the 9 a.m. ceremony. Undergraduates and graduates of the Carol A. Ammon College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Business should attend the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
  • How many guests can I bring?

    Seven (7) guests per graduate.
  • Who is eligible to participate?

    Please view commencement eligibility requirements in detail. Students will receive a notification in their Central email account from the Registrar's Office. Eligibility notifications will be emailed on a rolling basis.
  • Are young children counted as guests? Are they permitted to sit on laps or stay in strollers?

    Toddlers can sit on laps. No strollers are permitted in the venue.
  • Can family members/friends join graduates on the stage?

    Only graduates will be permitted to walk across the stage. The stage area will be a restricted area for graduates and Central faculty/staff.
  • Will the ceremony be available to watch online?

    The ceremony will be streamed live on the Central website. It will be streamed simultaneously with the commencement ceremony with a 20-second delay. The webcast will appear on the main website, and no password or special player will be needed. Any computer should be able to play the webcast, and it will be recorded.
  • How long will the ceremony last?

    Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours
  • Are there any bag restrictions?

    Large bags are not allowed in the stadium. Purses, handbags, and other bags are subject to search/will be searched prior to admittance to the stadium.
