The Freshman Living Learning Community is a unique housing option designed specifically for new students, including both freshmen and first-year students. This community aims to help students adjust to university life by providing programs focused on study skills, campus resources, community building, and overall health and safety. Many of these events are co-sponsored by The Learning Center (TLC), New Student Programs Office, and faculty members from various academic departments.

Sophomore Theme Housing
Housed in Sam May Hall
At Central, we are committed to supporting your success as you progress from your first to second year, and ultimately, to degree completion. Your second year marks a pivotal stage in your college journey, and we are here to help you thrive! To be classified as a sophomore, you must have completed at least 26 credits.
This themed housing option offers a valuable opportunity to engage with various academic departments, advisors, and others who will support your learning and success. It’s a great chance to explore Central’s diverse majors and understand how they prepare you for your future career. Our programs and activities are designed to enhance your academic experience, build career readiness, and foster leadership skills, among other benefits.
Women in Leadership Theme Housing
Housed in Mildred Barrows Hall
Located in an all-women's residence hall, this themed housing community is designed to empower women to grow as leaders. Residents will build assertiveness, develop goal-oriented strategies, and cultivate skills to support and inspire other women. Engage in enriching activities and programs in collaboration with key campus partners, including:
- Central Women’s Center
- Office of Victim Advocacy
- Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department/Professors
- Student Activities Office and clubs/organizations (SALD) – collaborate with women leaders in student organizations to host workshops and presentations
